Hosting and server logs
-
This website runs on a virtual server that we rent from IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. IONOS processes the data there on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).
We operate the web server ourselves. To send you the pages, it processes your IP address. With every request, it writes the following to its logs: the time, the requested page or file, the status code, the amount of data transferred, the previously visited page (referrer) and the browser and operating system as your browser states them. It does not log your IP address. Only if an error occurs during a request does the error log also record your IP address. This data serves the secure and stable operation of the website; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in this (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the logs after 14 days.
Contact form
-
When you write to us using the contact form, we process your email address, your name, the subject and your message in order to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request concerns a possible assignment, and otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Without this information we cannot answer your request.
The website does not store your request. It is sent to our server in encrypted form and from there immediately by email, via the mail server of IONOS, to our mailbox, with your email address as the reply-to address. The website never sends an email to the address you enter. After you send the form, the page shows you a copy of your request; this view is created in your browser only.
We keep the email for as long as we need it to handle your request and any follow-up questions. If your request leads to an assignment, we keep it for as long as statutory retention obligations require.
Protection against spam
-
To prevent misuse of the contact form, our server checks every request automatically. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the form from misuse and our mailbox from spam (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If a request fails one of the checks, the server does not send it, nor does it store its content. You will then see a notice and can email us directly.
The checks in detail:
- ALTCHA: As soon as you start filling in the form, your browser solves a small computational task set by our own server. This works without third parties, without cookies and without picture puzzles. The server remembers solved tasks so that each one counts only once; they contain no information about you.
- Request limit: The server accepts at most 5 requests per hour and 20 per day from each sender. For this, it does not store your IP address but a hash value it derives from it with a secret key, together with the times of your requests. It deletes these entries as soon as they are older than 24 hours; it checks this every hour and whenever the form is used.
- It also checks the request for typical signs of spam.
No cookies, no tracking
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services. It loads no third-party content such as fonts, maps or videos; all files come from our own server.
Recipients
- We do not pass your data on to third parties. The only recipient is IONOS, as our processor for hosting and email. We do not transfer your data to countries outside the European Union.
Your rights
-
You have the right of access to your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest, you can object on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). Simply send us an email.
If you believe that we are not processing your data lawfully, you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority:

- Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Wien, Austria
- Phone: +43 1 52 152-0
